What we accomplished

1,840 wells installed or repaired. 38 new village partnerships. 12,200 first-time direct beneficiaries. 80 schools + 22 clinics in active partnership.

96% of wells we installed in 2014 are still working. The industry average for the same vintage is 38%. Our 10-year continuation rate is the highest in the WASH sector.

What we got wrong

Two villages we onboarded in 2023 had aquifer-quality issues we didn’t catch in survey — the wells produced low-quality water and we had to drill twice. The cost overrun ($180k total) came out of contingency. We’ve updated our pre-drilling survey methodology to add an additional sample point at depth.

Our donor retention rate fell 4% YoY (78% → 74%). We think the cause was a backlog in our impact-reporting cadence in Q3, which meant donors didn’t hear from us for 5+ months. We’ve doubled the impact-reporting team and the cadence is back on track.
