I'm Maya.
Fifteen years behind the camera. Editorial, brand, wedding. Based in the city, working anywhere there's a story.
The short version
I started at a magazine in 2008 — first as the photo editor, then as the photographer when the budget shrank to one. By 2012 I was freelancing full-time. By 2018 I'd shot for Condé Nast Traveler, Vogue, the New York Times, and a handful of brands I was proud of. I've kept the team small ever since: just me and one assistant on most shoots.
What I shoot
Stories, mostly. Whether it's an editorial feature, a brand campaign, or a wedding — I'm looking for the shot that says something about the people in it. Not just the moment. The thing underneath the moment.
