Engineering
- NorthBank — multi-region active-active. Promoted us-east-1 + eu-central-1 to active-active for the auth path. Failover tested twice this quarter; both under 90s. Customer-facing latency unaffected.
- Helio — appointment-search rewrite. Replaced an Elasticsearch-on-the-side pattern with native Postgres + pg_trgm. P95 dropped 41%, monthly ES bill removed.
- Cargolane — tracker SDK v3. Cut SDK payload from 184KB to 62KB. Battery impact on driver phones halved per Cargolane's telemetry.
- Brightsky — checkout perf. Web vitals (LCP) for the checkout funnel from 3.2s to 1.4s on cold cache.
Product (own studio)
- Internal CLI v2. Replaced our project-bootstrapping CLI; new sites scaffold in 18s vs the previous 2m+. Used by every engagement going forward.
- RFC tooling. Lightweight RFC + decision-log automation in Linear. Saved an estimated 6 engineering hours per engagement, per quarter.
Security
- SOC 2 Type II re-audit complete. Zero exceptions. Report available under MNDA via /contact.
- Sigstore on every release. Cosign signing rolled out to all production artefacts. SBOMs published per artefact in CI.
- Dependency-update SLA. Cut median patch time on critical CVEs from 11 days to 4. New SLA: 7 days for critical, published on /security.
Infrastructure
- Tofu migration. Migrated all engagements off Terraform Cloud onto OpenTofu + a self-hosted state backend. Cost: -78%. Operational pain: low.
- Datadog → OpenTelemetry. Started migrating two engagements off Datadog onto self-hosted OTel + Grafana. Q2 will tell us whether it's a save or a sunk cost.
What didn't ship
- The AI agent framework. We promised a Claude-based codebase-Q&A internal tool by end of March. We shipped it on 9 April. Nine days late. Fine.
- Public sub-processor list redesign. Pushed to Q2 — the existing list is correct, just ugly. Not a security concern.
What's coming in Q2
- Public status page redesign (overdue).
- Internal hiring page rebuild.
- Two more managed-deployment migrations onto OpenTofu.
- The first edition of our open-source design system, public early Q2.
